An awareness programme on the Persistent Organic Pollutant (POP) like Poly Chlorinated Biphenyls, its safe disposal & elimination was conducted by CPRI Bangalore with UNIDO New Delhi, co-ordinated by OPTCL at Power Training Centre, Chandaka on dtd.08.05.2014. More than 100 participants from different Power Utilities of Odisha, WBSEDCL  Kolkata, Student trainees of PTC, Chandaka participated in the occasion. Steps are being taken for the inventory of Transformers, Capacitor Banks manufactured prior to 1980, such that their oil samples are to be tested by CPRI, Bangalore to ascertain the PCB content & their for safe disposal & elimination.
